Wednesday, August 12, 2009 was the first day that we attended and was a part of the makeup team. The look of the day, "Blackberry". We had to create somewhat of a Goth look to each model. Black smokey eye, with liner on the top and bottom, contoured cheekbones, deep burgundy/plum lip......and the eyebrow! Oh the infamous eyebrow. The brows had to be created from scratch. The brow started with being covered with wax on the ends. We then used MAC black trax to draw a slightly thick brow that came to a point going up towards the temple. {see pictures}
The show on Wednesday was GREAT! One of my favorite up and coming designers showcased his work... Ying Edge Designs. He is a great designer and only 18 years old!!! Talent has no age limitations, if you've got it you got it!
Thursday, August 13, 2009 About Face Beauti was back in the house recreating the look "Peaches & Cream". A much simpler look than our previous day! Gray smokey eye with white liner in the water line, a pinkish tone cheek, with a peach lip. Very simple! Yet it still came across great on the runway. It was a very young & fresh look.
Again there were AMAZING designers, a group of teenagers came all the way from Georgia to showcase their work of DUCK TAPE ART!! Yes, duck tape! Dresses, pants suits, shoes, corset tops, blazers, trench coats, you name it...they had created it...out of duck tape! it was awesome to say the least!
All & all I will say that the experience of Baltimore Fashion Week was a good one, I got to network with other makeup artist as well as designers. I was able to work with a great team under the direction of our Key artist, Ms. LaDonna Brooks. I also got to showcase my work on the runways of Baltimore.....next stop? Looking to showcase my talent on many more runways!!
